GUILT-FREE GLAMOUR!®

After Midnight is our deepest, darkest blue hair dye. This color can add dark blue highlights to virgin, unbleached hair, but for best results, we recommend lightening hair to a very light level 9 blonde or lighter and toning hair that has yellow tones before use to avoid undesired hues.

Instructions

Hair should be pre-lightened (bleached) to a pale blonde before coloring. When color is applied to virgin (unprocessed/natural) hair, results will vary (according to hair texture and color). This product should not be used for dyeing eyebrows and eyelashes. If eye contact does occur, rinse immediately with warm water and contact a physician.

We recommend pre-lightening (bleaching) your hair to a level 9, or higher, for a true color tone. Darker/warmer shades work best on hair that can only be lifted to a darker blonde shade. An even level 10 platinum blonde is required for all pastel shades (like our Creamtones®, or any shades you may have “pastel-ized” with our Pastel-izer®) as well as all shades of grey (Alien Grey, Amethyst Ashes, and Blue Steel).

  1. Wash hair with a deep cleansing/clarifying shampoo. Do not condition.
  2. Dry hair with a blow dryer to make sure the hair is extremely porous and to remove excess water.
  3. Apply Manic Panic Hair Color.
  4. Comb through the hair color to make sure it is evenly applied and thoroughly saturated in your hair. It may become slightly frothy.
  5. Cover hair with a plastic cap.
  6. Use a hair dryer to apply heat to your hair for part of the processing time.
This will help to open up the cuticle and allow the Manic Panic hair color to better penetrate the hair strand.
  7. Leave on for 30-45 minutes.
  8. Towel and/or blow dry hair. Style as usual.

Maintain color by washing with a sulfate-free color safe shampoo & conditioner, using cool water. The more often you wash, the faster the color will fade out.

"i bleached my hair so i’m not sure how it would apply on naturally dark hair, but it’s super vibrant and is still really pigmented after 4 showers (cold water) !"

QUESTION

"I have black hair, do you think the dye will show up?"

m4ngo (5/5)

Its decent, but stains everything

"Its a nice color on my virgin blonde hair. It did seem to dry my hair out a bit, but I do have curly hair so that may have just contributed to that. But I will say it stained EVERYTHING it touched, even if i wiped it off my counter basically instantly, and scrubbing with cleaner there is still faint blue stains. Also stains skin extremely easily even when rinsing out hair. Basically started staining my hair instantly, so you cannot go back with this one lmao. It is decently easy to use, just apply and wait. I only let it sit for maybe 15-20 mins and I got a nice deep blue. I only just dyed my hair, so we will have to see how it fades."

Black virgin hair

pretty color but the worst to get out

"this was the most gorgeous color ever. i loved it so much. but the thing is it stained everything. never stopped bleeding, stained my hands for weeks, stained my neck and clothes no matter the color of clothes or how long it had been in. and then i tried to get it out. tried to dye over it, didnt work, tried color remover, just turned teal. lifted with bleach professionally (300$) and it was still green. then had to try about six different things to get it back to a normal color without any green and it finally worked after a month of trying things. all the professionals say manic panic ESPECIALLY blue is the worst to get out. honestly not worth it. 500$ and a month of ugly hair. for stained hands clothes and a pretty color. first pic is right after, second pic is a month ish after, third is after trying to remove it"
