Before coloring your hair, you should perform a patch or strand test with your hair color or bleach to make sure you don’t have any allergic reactions. You can also see if you like the color before coloring your hair all over!
Yes and no. Some of our colors (especially neons, UVs, and pastels) work best on a pre-lightened base. If you want our signature intense color, we recommend lightening your hair to at least a level 7+ blonde. But we also have colors that give gorgeous colorful tints to dark hair. Each product on our website comes with hair swatches so you can see before and after results on light and dark hair.
Your base color is SUPER important since it affects the appearance of tones. If you apply blue pigment on top of a yellow-toned blonde, the results can veer toward a more teal or green hue. The whiter the hair, the truer the color tone. Before you color your hair blue, watch a tutorial by Mykey O’Halloran on how to avoid green tints!
Our semi-permanent formula lasts for about 4-6 weeks. But stronger formulas (like our Amplified collection) last longer because they contain 30% more pigment.
If you want to fight the fade for longer, we have color-safe shampoos and conditioners made specifically to maintain our hair colors. Use cool water when shampooing and try to wash hair only once a week (the more you wash, the faster the color fades). We also have dry shampoo to keep your color fresh on days when you skip a wash.

"I've been using Enchanted Forest for over a year know and I'm obsessed with it but my only down fall is that the ends turned a kinda muddy green and I cane seem to fix it without bleaching or doing a color remover on the spots that are this way. other than that I love the hair color and it really suites me and compliments my eyes. If I had a picture I would upload it but I don't have one of my hair now with the muddy green ends."

"This color is more blue that green, I am considering putting yellow in my hair to make this color more green. When it starts fading, it actually looks like a bad hair color, sort of as a mistake. I also didn't like that there was no detailed instruction about the application, like how you need to put petrolium jelly on your skin around yr hairline and wear gloves, otherwise everything will be colored blue. I've missed information provided about diluting theis dye to achieve a lighter effect."

"I've never dyed my hair a crazy color before! I've always wanted green/blue hair, and on New Year's I decided to take the plunge. I'm a natural strawberry blonde, but I've been dyeing my hair a deep ginger for years now, so I was nervous that my hair was going to turn purple or muddy brown. So I used Color Oops twice (one week apart), clarifying shampoo, and blue shampoo before I put Enchanted Forest on. I got the most perfect, beautiful color ever! You don't need to bleach your hair to get marvelous results!!! Going into this process, everyone in my life told me to bleach my hair first to get the results in the pictures above, but I didn't want to lose my natural color underneath. "I honestly really loved the way that the color turned out. It's the most vibrant teal blue I've had. My only complaint is the fact that it stained my bathtub and my hands when I went to rinse it out, and the color never seems to want to stop bleeding. I have taken around 8 showers since dying my hair and my hair bleeds blue every single time. It makes me sad because I likely won't buy it again because I'm scared that when I move to some place that I'm not living in permanently that I'm going to ruin a bathtub."
