Dissapointed
"This was my favourite color but they changed the formula and now it fades so fast and also isn't a deep blood red but roses instead. So dissapointing. That was my signature red. . . I went around and brought as many as I could find with the old ingredients. I've now been trying to find other brands that look the same and nothing compares to the old colour. Please bring back the old formula. No red should have green in it. I've attached a photo of the ingredients from the old batch :( so sad. The new one doesn't compare."
Way Lighter than the pictures
"The process was really easy and my hair felt normal after, but the color was wayyyyyyyyyy lighter than in the pictures. I thought I was gonna have this beautiful dark dark red hair but instead I got a Semi dark red that looks pink on camera. It’s okay, I mean I don’t hate it but it’s not at all what I originally wanted. But points for how vibrant it is."

"Faded surprisingly quickly: I would rinse it - not even use shampoo - and the water would run bright pink. It went from blood red to tomato in about a week. It wouldn't stick to unbleached hair, but with bleached hair it was way too bright for what I was looking for; brighter than the packaging/the swatches on this page suggested. I selected this color bc the swatch used on the page for browsing colors showed it as a deep burgundy. I've heard raving reviews about Manic Panic so my expectations were higher than what I got. Overall, it's better than some other options out there, but not the end-all-be-all."
Gorgeous, works for dark hair
"Worked beautifully on my unbleached, very dark brown hair, giving a gorgeous purle-ish tone to it (not very visible but still pretty). When in sunlight the color was vibrant, dark red with pink/purple tones. It bleeds a ton when wet though, so mind your white t-shirts!"
It took a long time
"It took a long time for this color to get back in stock - if it goes out again I might have to try another similar color. I will say it didn't last as long at full vibrancy as I might have hoped, but it is still detectable a couple of months later. This could have been the stylist not applying heat. I have always enjoyed my InfraRed and it gets me compliments everywhere I go!"
Orange-base, no more. Goodbye business.
"You changed your formula. This used to be a beautiful, orange red that resembled actual blood and you’ve ruined it. It’s now a shitty, pink-based red and I’m distraught as it’s bleeding from my head into the shower. This was me favorite— the only red I could find that wasn’t a synthetic pink red but a true red, and it’s ruined. Go back to the old formula. Severely disappointed. I’ve been using this brand consistently since 2007. Please go back to the orange base. Please."
PURPLE red, not brown red
"Despite being advertised as a brown red and bringing warm tones, the dye was a strong purple red, being very cool toned. It also looked nothing like the hair level example photos of the dye. Overall pretty misleading on color. It’s a pretty purple red but not what I was looking for."
Very worth it
"I wanted to get a hair color like dua lipa but without bleaching. I have medium to dark brown hair and it turned it the perfect red purple color. after three weeks my color is still the same as when I first dyed it (I cut side bangs and kept a strand to compare). Only note is it’s a little more purple on me than it is on the website, but that’s what I wanted anyway."
