| HOW'D HE DO IT? One of our fave Dyehards Gabe bleached his hair with MANIC PANIC Flashlightning until it was whitish/blonde. Then he applied his Electric Banana® with a tint brush, combed it through his hair, covered his head with a plastic cap, and let the dye sit in his hair for almost one hour. "I blow-dryed the Manic Panic in my hair to truly seap in the color . For maintenance I mixed "Electric Banana®" hair dye with my conditioner to replenish the color after every washing." | Our Dyehard Lindsay writes us: "I've been using Manic Panic since high school, but I've never stuck with one color in my life until I found Electric Banana. I've been dying my hair this color since September '09 (Except for a period in the summer of 2010 when I had to go normal for a job. It sent me into a bit of a depression.) and I never go a week without people coming up to me and give me compliments on it. I love how it seems to change color in certain lights. In bright sunlight, it's nearly green, but in any other light it's a bright highlighter yellow that always gets people staring. This color even got me my roller derby name, Lemonhead, and that's all anyone ever calls me anymore. HOW'D SHE DO IT? I usually take an entire day to dye my hair, and it's a nice weekend ritual when I want to just relax and pamper myself. I bleach my entire hawk, then add some Virgin Snow to the root area so it's all a uniform shade of white (I only cut my mohawk about once every three months, so the tips always bleach pure white.) then add the dye. Then i stick a plastic bag over my head, and spend the day cleaning or working, or more likely playing video games and watching TV. It usually ends up staying in five or six hours. Then I run a blow dryer over it, right before I rinse it out. Cold water is really important. I also only use a sulfate-free shampoo and mix a little bit of dye into my conditioner. |

| HOW'D HE DO IT? Another exceptional dyehard, 14 year old Tyler, wears Electric Banana®. His mom writes us that he is " a natural light brown so we applied lightener and processed for 45 minutes, bringing him to an almost white blonde. This layed the perfect base for the true intensity of the Electric Banana™ which was left on for 45 minutes." GREAT TIP FOR LASTING COLOR SAYS GOOBY: "In addition to basic rinsing, I followed with a mixture of 1/2 cup of lemon juice to a gallon of cool water. This leveled out the pH balance, and kept his color vibrant for weeks!" |
